Ferro silicon aluminum furnace is to use submerged arc furnace to produce Ferro silicon aluminum alloys, which is a kind of deoxidizer used in steel-making. It is an effective new technology to improve steel quality, reduce cost and save aluminum by improving inclusion morphology and reducing gas element content in molten steel. According to raw material treatment method, there are two kinds of ferrosilicon production process: raw materials are put into furnace directly after proportioning and another is pelletizing treatment before put into furnace.

Smelting difficulties:
Major difficulty in ferro silicon aluminum furnace is the rise of furnace bed, because after carbide is formed in the furnace, resistivity decreases, which causes electrode to lift up, so that furnace bed temperature is insufficient and false furnace bottom is formed. In addition, due to small difference between specific gravity of slag formed by the alloy and smelting process, it is easy to cause that slag iron cannot be fully separated during smelting process. The higher of silicon aluminum content in the ferroalloy, the more obvious the situation is.
Practice shows that when bauxite is used to make alloy with high aluminum content, it is difficult to baking the burden, which is easy to cause collapse of the burden and make smelting difficult to carry out normally, which is contrary to the feature that silica is easy to baking when smelting ferrosilicon.
